Opening remarks
Ed Coleman, husband of the race's founder, Jessica Coleman, who battled stage 4 Melanoma, of Macungie, PA. She created the race to help others battling melanoma. She was an Allentown native and a Lehigh University graduate.
U.S. Congressman Charlie Dent represents Pennsylvania’s 15th District, which includes all or parts of Lehigh, Northampton, Montgomery, and Berks counties. His father-in-law was lost to Melanoma.
Dr. Lee Riley spearheaded the Melanoma Program, Comprehensive Breast Care Program and Liver Program at St. Luke’s. He is a national award recipient for his work as an active community clinical research leader in the fight against cancer. Dr. Riley is the first recipient of The Richard J. Torpie MD Endowed Chair in Oncology at St. Luke’s Cancer Center.

Race Bags
Registered Race Against the Sun partipants will receive a complimentary race bag that includes a copy of Runner's World magazine, sunscreen, Power Bar, Carmex Samples (lip balm), Kraft food samples, free one-week pass to LA Fitness, and more.

Directions to the Race
All vehicles must access the Lehigh Parkway via Vultee Street (located off of Lehigh Street in Allentown).

FROM 1-78/ROUTE 309
Take Lehigh Street exit north/east toward Allentown (approximately .8 mile) and turn left onto Vultee St. (CVS on far left corner). Follow the signs to the parking area.
FROM 24TH STREET
Go south on 24th Street until the intersection of Lehigh Street (traffic light). Turn left onto Lehigh Street. Proceed 1.1 miles to the left onto Vultee St. Follow the signs to parking area.
Hotel
A block of rooms has been set aside for race participants at $80.00 (plus tax) per night for the weekend of Race Against the Sun. Rooms have either one king size bed or two queen size beds. A hot buffet breakfast that starts at 7 a.m. daily is included. The hotel is located near a Crackle Barrel Restaurant, which starts serving breakfast at 6 a.m.
The race price is available until September 14. Please refer to the "Coleman Party" when registering.
